Anticipation and Ahoy

We’ve all spent most of 2020 waiting. Waiting to see the impact of a pandemic, waiting to return to normal life, waiting to properly greet our family and friends, waiting for our kids to come and visit, waiting to get our kids out of the house, waiting for changes in society as a result of addressing our collective history.

In addition, I have been waiting on new treatment schedules, updated status for insurance, an understanding what the next few months will mean for our family.

We all need to hold onto our patience, and manage our frustration, but I know I just needed something to be done. We need to make, take, and embrace those little victories and hold them dear as we await the big ones that are still to come.

So, a little one to share…

Today I received my 60th birthday present, thanks to CoVid production and delivery schedules.

Ellen bought me a 14.5’ canoe.

Wait a second, you may say; I’ve seen your condo. Where would you store a 14.5’ canoe? The only way that could work is if the canoe folded up into its own carrying case. Oh Yeah!!!

The MyCanoe Pop is a hard hull (not inflatable) fold-up canoe that takes up about the same space as 2 card tables back to back when folded. You can see a video on www.oricanoe.com . Since I have every type of waterproof and cold weather gear most folks can imagine, I hope to get a little paddle in this weekend before weather and treatment get in the way. Also it’s pretty much the perfect social distancing tool.

Will post again when the details we’re waiting for on new treatment protocol are known, but until then Ahoy!

Stay safe, Be Kind
