Use a Coaster!!

Standard tests and treatment over the next week or so. Infusion number 6 out of 8 in this protocol.

Over the last week I’ve had a couple of intersections with cancer from others. It is interesting how each approach is individual. Some are aggressive, some more conservative. Some angry, some are stoic. Some rally their support, others move forward on their own. It is important for anyone who directly or indirectly comes in contact with this very personal disease to know that they are right. Whatever you, and when desired your support team, decide to do, it is the right approach for you.

With that I thought I should share my view on my relationship with cancer. As this is the second time around and mine is a lifelong disease, I do view it as a relationship.

Certainly not a loving and supportive relationship, rather it is the out-of-towner who swings through every 5 years or so and hangs around for a few weeks. This time they want to stay with me “just until they get something else settled”. Unfortunately I left the back door unlocked, so I come home and find them in my favorite chair, with their shoes and sweating drink on the maple coffee table, watching golf (golf fans feel free to substitute “Tour de France”). I missed the chance to send them to a hotel, so now I have to accommodate and change my routine. Everyone asks why you don’t pick them up and throw them out? But that’s not my style. I’ll work to get them out as quickly as I can, and then investigate auto-locking doors. For me that is right.

So in these most unusual of times work with yourself and your loved ones to do what is right for you.

Respect and love each other.

Stay safe. Be kind
