Kindness (a little social commentary)

Those who have participated with me in the Hancock climb know that I am not a fan of heights. Particularly, open heights. When I was a Scout leader we would often go to the large ranger fire towers in the campgrounds. I would climb all the way to the top with the Scouts and then after everyone was up top I would go done a level or two, and let the boys know that if they felt like talking with me they could come down. I experienced a short period of discomfort in order to give them an option if they also were uncomfortable at the top.

All faiths, life styles, personal mottos have some form of the Golden Rule. In Judaism it has been stated by Hillel thus, “What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the entire Torah, the rest is commentary”.

Presently we all have an opportunity to experience small discomfort, take minimal action and consider the benefit of others. On other words, show a little kindness.

I am one of the many people who need to depend on the actions of others for a while to ensure my own safety.

Wash your hands, practice social distancing, wear a mask, and follow directions of shopkeepers and restaurants that are trying to bring us back to normal

It is truly a little thing with great benefit for others

Thank You kindly
