I have completed the second infusion of my immunotherapy and have experienced no long-term side effects yet. The lab tests indicate that the treatment is progressing appropriately. I am feeling okay, and still can engage in my normal activities and exercise (within CoVid limits). This is encouraging as this is one of the markers that puts me on the plus side of any long-term prognosis.

With this infusion and subsequent ones I will now be “stacking” the active medicine in my system. So with a 30-day half-life my body was at 50% active when I went in for the second infusion. Adding a full dose of 100% active, brings my effective level up and averages about 73% (not going to do the math for you
) over the next month. The levels then build progressively after each infusion. So onset of any side effects will begin when my body reaches whatever level it’s unhappy with. The lab tests are used to measure the blood markers that would indicate potential issues (Thyroid, GI, Dermatitis) and the scans at 4 and 8 moths are to track the impact on the cancer itself. So a two pronged approach.
Hi Chuck, I love this what your kids did. So cool. Anyway, I’m so glad you are doing well. I will be checking regularly to see how you’re doing. I hope you enjoy your time at home, especially since we are able to get outside more now. I’ll keep sending you the HDYK. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers……
What sweet kids indeed! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Team AbbVie is “all in” for Chuck!
